Susan Harris Art

Spending my early childhood in Eastern Mass, frequenting the ocean and loving the outdoors developed my love of water and nature.  At age 12, I moved to Ware, Mass with my family.  After attending some college and a few more moves, I settled in Ware where I currently reside with my husband.

During my professional career as a Bank executive, now retired, I spent many non-working moments on various arts, primarily painting and drawing.  Basically a self-taught artist, I've been painting and drawing since I was young and love all aspects of fine art.  I have worked in oils, pastels and acrylics but after experiencing the exciting techniques of watercolor, I now work primarily in that medium.  Attending regular workshops over the past decades has honed my skills and love of watercolor.

I frame and mat my own work and make digital prints, greeting and note cards.  My work consists of landscapes, waterscapes, still life and abstracts.  I particularly enjoy painting architecture and have delighted many customers with home commissions.

Nature and the world around me are my inspiration; the sky, trees, oceans, lakes, reflections and shadows.
